At the first ever Winter
Games at Chamonix in 1924 the GBR 4 man Bob team consisted of one
Colonel, two Majors and a Captain; they won the silver medal!
In St Moritz in 1928 the Army made up one fifth of the only
ever 5 man bob. In 1964 Captain Robin Dixon (now Lord Glentoran)
Grenadier Guards won the Gold Medal with Tony Nash in the 2 man
bob. They were nearly emulated in 1998 when Corporals Dean Ward and
Sean Olsson of the Parachute Regiment were members of the bronze
medal four man bob.
