Luge,
where the slider lies feet first, is a long established Olympic sport. The
Army has two past Olympic representatives. |
|
The
sport is still dominated
by the old Eastern Bloc countries.
Prospects for Army athletes to compete
at the Turin Olympic Games in 2006 were very high, but the selection
standard was even higher!
Natur luge, where the sled is steered literally through breaks in the
forest, is a fast growing variant.
